What Is a Cash Back Credit Card?
by: FINDcashbackcards.com

A cash back credit card is a credit card like any other in which you have a spending limit and you are allowed to use the card instead of paying cash for something at the time of purchase.  The only difference with this sort of credit card as compared with others is that each time you buy something you get cash back.  Many cards refer to the cash back as rebates, so basically each time you purchase something you are rebated a percentage of the purchase price of that item.

The great thing about cash back credit cards is that you don’t get this rebate just one time or on specific purchases, in most cases you get cash back on each purchase.  So, if you make ten separate purchases in a day you would receive ten different cash back rebates for those purchases.  It sounds too good to be true, but it’s for real and the savings can add up to quite a bit over the course of a month or even a year.

The way that the cards work is that when you apply for the card you are told how much the rebates will be with each purchase.  So, if you accept a card that has a 1% rebate for each purchase and you spend $100 you would receive $1 back.  Doesn’t sound like that much, well think about if you spent $500 a month for a whole year?  As you can see, the money adds up in a hurry and you can use these funds in another way.

When you receive your cash back credit card you will likely see purchases and then immediately following the purchase you will see a rebate to the card balance.  So, if your balance was $100 and your cash back rate was 1% the balance would then be $99 plus whatever your annual percentage rate is.  The one and two dollar rebates here and there won’t seem like much, but many credit card providers put a running tally of your savings at the bottom of your statements and you may be surprised just how quickly it adds up!

The nice thing about the cash back credit card is that you are saving all around on your credit purchases because you are not only getting the rebates, you are paying less in interest because you aren’t charged interest on the rebated amount.  It may not seem like that big of a difference, but at the end of the year you could save hundreds of dollars in rebates, which could mean hundreds of dollars in interest that you would have paid.  It simply makes sense to use these cards if you can qualify for them because the savings are virtually unlimited.  Check out the cash back credit card offers that are out there for you to take advantage of and consider how much you could save if you continued using your credit cards exactly like you do now.
