Car rentals can be awfully expensive and if you’re about to rent a car, you’re going to want to make sure that you do it online.  You will never ever want to do it in person, because you’re going to find out really fast that you’re going to pay a lot more compared to purchasing online.

#1 Start a search

The first thing that you’re going to want to do is head to your favorite search engine.  What you’re going to want to do is search out the most recent results.  By doing this, you’re going to find the best deals.  You don’t always need a discount code to get the best rental car.

#2 Use a comparison website

My favorite car rental search engine is Travelocity.  I like using this because I’m able to search through about 10-15 car rental companies all at once.  What you can do from here is look at each price and when you find the lowest price, you can then search for a coupon code, giving you the ultimate deal.

#3 Look for AAA discounts

If you hold an AAA card, ask if you can use your AAA card.  Some companies will advertise that they take them, while others will allow you to use them, even if they don’t advertise.  It doesn’t hurt to ask and by showing your card, you can save 40%.

#4 Check out eBay

A common tip that many people don’t even know about is checking out eBay.  By checking out this site, you can save with coupons that other people have.  What you’re going to want to do is make sure that you book your car a few weeks in advance, because many of these coupons either have to be mailed, or you can get a coupon code.
