There are several websites available that want you to use them when you go shopping on the Internet.  One such company is MYPoints.com.   After joining; they send you emails from companies that will offer you reward points for shopping.  These points accumulate in your account and can be redeemed for gift cards, and many other items that they have available.  Other companies let you build up reward points by entering a code off one of their items that you purchased.  Again these points accumulate and can be redeemed for various items.

Use the internet to find coupons

It is not necessary to clip coupons from the newspaper anymore.  The internet is a great source for coupons.  There are hundreds of websites that have printable coupons as well as coupon codes to use when you shop online.  Before you make a purchase check to see if the merchant you are going to use has any coupons available.  There are often times 10% or more discounts available, or $5 off a $50 purchase, or even better if you take the time to search before you shop.

Find a store that matches prices

Stores are very competitive.  In today’s economy they are fighting for every dollar and will often times agree to match a competitor’s advertised price tin order to get you business.  Use this to your advantage.  There is nothing wrong with asking them if they will match a price.  The worst thing they can do is say no.  The best thing they can do is offer to not only match it, but actually beat the price.  Check the ads before you shop for something, especially a large ticket item and then use this knowledge to strike a bargain.  It is well worth the effort.
