Dillards stores are always known to have some great deals, but many shoppers at the mall generally pass this store up, because it looks like a higher end shopping center, such as Macy’s, and others.  What you’ll soon find out when you walk into one, is that it isn’t even the case!

How can you save at Dillards?

• Grab the newspaper: Dillards is known to have some great coupons in the newspaper.  Pick up a newspaper, and do a quick browse for a coupon.  You’ll either find one, or you won’t.  If you do find one, make sure you read the terms, and conditions, and see how you can save.
• Hit the clearance center: Dillards has an amazing clearance section for both men, women, as well as kids.  Head to the department you want to shop in, and see what kind of deals you can get.  They always have a clearance section, and yes, you can save big.  I’ve been in there before, where I could save 80% on shoes!  I was able to get a pair of name brand shoes for $15.
• Sign up for a Dillard’s credit card: When you use this credit card designed specifically for Dillard’s, you’ll get bonus points every time you shop, and use it at the store.  You’ll also get 10% off passes here, and there off your purchases, which will save you even more money.
• Search the site: If you head to Dillard’s website, you will find a small “events” section, where you can search for deals, and promotions going on in your area.  Check out your area, and see if there’s anything going on, that’s worth checking out.

Everyone nowadays loves to shop online, and if you’re like me, you love to save money.  Whenever I do my shopping online, there are a few strategies that I use, in order to save the most money, and I’ll tell you how I do with these simple steps.

• Know the cheapest price: I never buy from the first place I look at.   Instead, I use sites like PriceGrabber.com that can help me find the best prices possible online.
• Always get free shipping: If you’re going to pay for shipping, you’re going to be ripped off, unless the total after the shipping is still the cheapest price (which is rarely the case).
• Use coupons! Make it a habit to search for coupon codes.  As long as you implement this, you can save some big money.

How can get get free shipping / delivery with online shopping?

• Search for it: The first thing that you can do is search for places that will enable you to get free shipping.  Many retailers online have free shipping plastered right on their front page.  E-tailers that have free shipping advertise it.
• Try FreeShipping.org: FreeShipping.org is one of the best sites online when you’re looking for stores online that have free shipping.  Browse through popular categories to find the store that has the best prices for you, as well as free shipping online.
• Ship direct to the store: You may find that a store online has a great deal, but you don’t want to pay the hefty shipping price, and that’s okay!  Places such as Best Buy, and Wal-Mart have an option that you can use, where you can get the item shipped directly to the store for free.  If you don’t mind driving, this is a great option to take advantage of.

If you’re a savvy shopper such as myself, and you own the new Android phone by Verizon, you’re probably wondering what the best apps are out there, when it comes to saving money.  While the phone is relatively new, and there aren’t a lot of applications out there, there are enough to make a top list, and I wanted to point out the ones that I like.

• ShopSavvy: I can’t talk enough about this phone.  It has a bar code scanner, where you can scan an item in store, product look up, as well as a review finder.  You can then compare the item to online websites, as well as stores in your local area.  This way, you will always know that the price is the cheapest around, and you won’t feel ripped off!
• Compare Everywhere: Just like ShopSavvy, you can scan a bar code, and wee show has the cheapest items in your area.  It even searches your local library as well to see if they have the item in stock, so that you can rent it out, rather than buy it.  A very cool app!
• My Coupons: If you’re a fan of finding coupons, My Coupons will show you the coupons of the day.  If you upgrade to the pro version, you can have the coupons mailed to your e-mail box, as well as you can share them with friends and family.  There are a lot of great deals to be found on this site.
• Craigslist Checker: Ever wanted to buy something at the store, but you wanted to know if it’s cheaper used?  Well, if you like Craigslist, and you want it at your fingertips, this app can search Craigslist for you.  It’s a great, easy to use application.

Like I mentioned above, the app market is still slow, since the Android is relatively new, but these applications alone will save you a few hundred dollars over the next year, if you make it a habit to use them.  Check them all out, as they are free, and if you don’t like them, you can always un-install them!

Whether you own the iPhone, or the newest Android phone, one of the must have applications that you should download for your phone right now is the Shop Savvy application.  Now, before we get into details, I first want to state that this application is 100% free, and is well worth every penny!  In fact, whenever I show someone my phone, this is one of the first apps that I show people.

What can this application do for you?

• Scan a bar code: Let’s say that you’re in the store, and you see a big ticket item that you really want to purchase.  Well, with your phone, simply open up this application, scan the bar code on the item, and wait for it to do it’s magic.  It’s now going to come back with the top stores both online, and in store that have the best deal.  You’ll be able to browse the websites, and stores that have it right in your hand!
• Type in a product: If you don’t have a bar code, that’s fine, instead you can simply type in the product.  When you type in the product, you’ll have a results page returned to you, along with pictures, as well as the description.  If that’s what you want, click on it, and again, it’s going to show you the cheapest place both online, and in store around you.
• Find the best price: Now, once you see the list of the best prices online, and both in store, let’s say you want to find the cheapest in store place that has it.  It will return the top stores in your area with their price.  From there, you can click on that store, and it will tell you exactly where it’s located based on your GPS location.  You can call up the store to check inventory, as well as browse a map to see where it’s located.
• Get reviews: Now, let’s say that there’s an item that you want, but you don’t know what to think of it.  Again, input the name, and instead, browse some reviews.  It’s going to pull reviews from around the Internet, and show you what others think of it.  This is a great way to get a good idea on what the app is all about.

All in all, this is by far one of my top 5 applications on the Android, and iPhone.  It’s well worth the price tag of free, and trust me, it will save you $100′s over the lifetime of your phone.

The next time you find yourself at the Skecher’s outlet center on your next shopping trip, I wanted to give you some pointers on how you can save even more than just at the store itself.  While this store in general has a lot of deals, you will find that there are other tips you can use in order to save big.

• Join the VIP Club: Skechers has a great VIP club where you can save a lot of money, and the best thing about this is that it’s 100% free!  You can get free shipping, no sales tax applied to your purchase (except in CA), you can also get exclusive offers, that can help you save big.
• Look for the coupons: Every once in a while, you can walk into a Skechers or find a coupon online.  A lot of the times, the outlet stores, as well as their regular stores are running promotions.  This is a great way to take advantage of the deals with coupons.
• Search for promotions: Skechers always has great deals running such as Buy 1 get 1 50% off, or even buy one, get one free.  A lot of the times, if you search on the web, you will be able to find out about these promotions ahead of time.  If you don’t need the shoes right now, I would wait for these type of promotions to save the most money.
• Do a search online: If you don’t mind purchasing online, search the web for online coupon codes.  Sites such as RetailMeNot.com, as well as others have great databases packed filled with coupons that you can use.  Search before you make the purchase, and see if you can save big!
