Using couponsI am a coupon clipper.  I not only clip them from the newspaper but print them and clip them from online sources as well.  I can save double the value at some grocery stores but only up to $1.00.  I do the majority of shopping at grocery stores that will double coupons.  You see your cash back grow as the coupons are being rung up.  You walk out of the store with the goods but the currency is in your pocket!

Your Sunday Newspaper is your friend

Yes, it’s true!  No longer do I go for the headlines, I scrabble inside and check how many packets of coupons are in it.  There is Smart Source, Red Plum and occasionally a packet of coupons for cleaning and non food items!  I buy several papers from my local grocery store and sort and clip the coupons.  I staple the like coupons together before clipping it and then sort them into groups. I then file them in a box that I carry with me to the store.  You never know when you will stumble upon an item not on your list but is reduced or is an in-store clearance.

Online Coupons are available daily

Checking daily for new coupons is a favorite activity.  I go to fatwallet.com and just enter the store I plan to visit that day.  The most current coupons appear and can be easily clipped.  Here you get the most current coupons also.  Current coupons are usually this week’s sale items!

A good tip is when you print your coupons; don’t waste money by printing them in color.  Online coupons are meant to be copied so stores do not worry about a black and white coupon.  Color ink is far more expensive than black, so change your settings to print in black only.  A penny saved is a penny earned!

Cash Back Shopping Online

There are various websites that offer cash back shopping if you shop through their website.  Fat Wallet is one such site.  Why offer a percentage of your total back when shopping at hundreds of popular online retailers.  All you need to do is go to fatwallet.com before you make any purchase, search for the link to the site you want to shop at and click the link.  Whenever you shop through the Fat Wallet site you will receive a percentage of your purchases back.  The percentage is advertised on the Fat Wallet site so you know what you will be getting back ahead of time.  Fat Wallet also has various coupons and exclusive offers for their retailers.  When your cash back is approved it will accrue in your Fat Wallet account and you can withdraw it to your bank account at anytime–there is no minimum!  If you’re worried you will forget to shop through Fat Wallet, they have a toolbar that you can install on your browser that will ensure you get cash back shopping anytime you shop online.  There are also similar websites that offer cash back shopping.  You can search the internet and find them, although Fat Wallet is one of the best.

Cash Back Credit Cards

Several credit cards offer cash back on all of your purchase, usually ranging from 1-2% of your purchases.  These credit cards also may offer a higher percentage back (typically 5%) for specific purchases like gas, groceries, at restaurants, etc… Depending on the card you can either customize what you get more cash back on or it is a specific card offering a higher cash back on certain items.  Some credit cards also offer varying promotions, where for instance for a certain month there is a higher cash back on restaurants and the next month a higher cash back on gas.  If you are someone who uses your credit card frequently, it’s a great way to pay less for everything you buy!

Rebates & Promotions

Certain manufacturers will offer rebates on purchases.  These rebates are typically either instantaneous, mail-in, or submit online.  With a rebate you purchase an item for one price ($100 for example) and then there is a rebate ($25 for example) that you will later receive as a check or deposit into your account.  In the example $25 rebate example, you will pay $100 for the item but then get $25 cash back later.  Another cash back promotion some stores have, is that if you spend a certain amount ($50 for example) you get a coupon for $25 for every $50 you spend.  You then come back to the store at a later time and for each coupon and $50 you spend you get $25 off.  This is another example of cash back shopping.

1. Use coupons.

When most people try to think of a way to save money while food shopping their first idea most likely is to use coupons. First you need to know where to find these coupons, and there are many places people often forget to look for valuable coupons. For example most people think of getting them in the Sunday paper or a circular, but you can also get them in the store, off the product or even on the Internet. My trick is to figure out how much you are saving before you go to the store and then put that money away into a saving account or a savings jar. I like this because one day when you need extra money for a vacation or maybe a car repair you have it already saved up.

2. Keep the change programs.

Keep the change is a program offered by Bank of America, and possibly other banks, which helps people to save up money without even realizing it. You use your debit card just as you would normally, but when you buy something that is, for example, $5.79 the banks rounds it up to a $6.00 purchase and puts the .21 cents into a savings account for you. These companies often have incentives where in the first month or two they will even match whatever you put away. This is a great way to save up money and not even realize it is happening, it just slowly accumulates overtime.

3. Use store rewards programs.

Many people are loyal to one or two grocery stores that are nearby their home and fail to take the opportunity of store reward program cards. Almost every grocery store has them, and it is simply a frequent shopper card that you swipe to gain points after every purchase. These points can often be used toward future purchases, special deals or even a reduced gas price. You can save money by having special deals available only to card holders and by using the rewards at a later date. Another great thing about store reward cards is that you don’t have to just pick one store; you can have these cards at as many stores as you want.

Saving and making moneyThere are many ways you can make a little more money than your pay check here are some things you can do.

There are a lot of places that need people for a part time job that can come in on weekends or other times. So on you’re off days you can work part time and pick up a little more cash. You can work at a pet store coffee shop or any local place that is not too far from where you live. It is also good because you can put it on your re assume or anything else that you need it for. That is one way you cash get more cash another way is to.

Make homemade meals

This is a great way to save if you eat out a lot 2 times a week if you cook at home on the weekends not go out you can save around 200 bucks a month. Try to find the stuff on sale and make that it is a lot cheaper then eating out. You can find great recipes online if you are not a great cook. Just make a list to see what you need and go out and she if you can find a good deal on stuff.

Go to the library to get movies not the theater

On the weekend if your friends want to see a movie just go to one of your guy’s house and. If your library has movies you can get them for free instead of going to the movie theater if you do that you can save a lot. If your library does not have movies then rent them it is still cheaper than going to the theater. You can see the movie more than once and if you are late they don’t charge you that much.

Use a cash back credit card

Many credit cards now offer a cash back feature. Credit card companies make these offers because they profit from the merchants credit card fees. Each time you make a transaction they receive a processing/transaction fee. To encourage more spending and potentially more finance charges, credit card issuers will often offer rewards or cash back. Many people use a credit card to pay for regular expenses such as gas, groceries, and utilities. If you carefully budget these expenses, pay off your bill each month, and use your cash back option toward your regular expenses you will get a small discount using this option. Some banks are now offering cash back on bank debit card accounts when used as a credit charge. You may not get the premium cash back rate offered to credit card spenders, but you do not run the risk of carrying a balance over and paying finance charges essentially negating any cash back bonus.

Look for coupons

A great way to get cash back while shopping is to look for coupons and rebates. Many retailers are using cash back as a way to expose customers to products they might not have tried otherwise. CVS and Walgreens are two merchants that use coupons and rebates extensively in their marketing. Simple searches on Google.com often yield many results for coupons and other rebate deals. Be sure to check flyers at your local stores for extra rebates. Often you can get an item free or nearly free after rebate. You may have to pay upfront, but your rebates can really add up if you will mail them in (or submit them online.)

Use cash back shopping websites

Merchants are using partnerships to generate more sales and advertise their businesses. Cash back shopping websites essentially give you credits in the form of points or cash for shopping through their website. Merchants pay to be a part of the shopping network and offer special promotions and discounts to members of the websites. In turn, members are regularly aware of merchant products and often purchase more because they will get points or cash back. As mentioned earlier, these services can be a great benefit to someone who already planned to purchase something from the merchant. You may get free shipping, a percentage off your purchase, or a free product for using the shopping website in addition to your points or cash back. Some people combine a cash back credit card purchase with a shopping website to get a double cash back bonus. Mypoints.com is one service that offers points toward gift cards to shoppers who use their portal, but there are many other similar websites.
